LET’S CUT TO THE CHASE. THERE IS AN EXPRESSION THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS THAT IT PRESUPPOSES THAT NO ONE CHARGES PEOPLE WAY TOO MUCH. IT IS PARTICULARLY PROBLEMATIC WEIGHING THESE TWO ADAGES, WHEN ONE IS TALKING ABOUT HIRING AN ATTORNEY. THINK IT THROUGH. ARE YOU CONSIDERING HIRING US BECAUSE YOU LIKE OUR WEBSITE? ARE YOU CONSIDERING HIRING SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE YOU LIKE THEIR WEBSITE BETTER? THINK THAT THROUGH. THERE ARE MANY GOOD DUI ATTORNEYS. WE ARE NOT ALONE IN BRINGING AGGRESSIVE, THOROUGH REPRESENTATION BACKED BY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TO OUR CLIENTS CHARGED WITH DUI. WE MIGHT BE ALONE IN REALIZING THAT WE CAN DO SUCH, PARTICULARLY ON FIRST AND SECOND OFFENSES, FOR THESE REASONABLE FEES. IN FACT, WE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT WE ARE ALONE IN REALIZING THAT, BUT WE ARE ALONE IN BEING WILLING TO DO IT.
Any attorney that has been practicing for a while has been told that his or her fees are too high or unaffordable. Some attorneys have actually flat out been told that their fees are too low. Here is what you need to know:
1. Most DUI charges, like most criminal charges in general, do not result in a trial.
2. Some criminal cases can result in a trial with many witnesses for both the accused and the government, and can last days. Attorney Mielnicki was once involved in a murder trial that lasted 2 weeks. Attorney Mielnicki handled another homicide case where just the pre-trial motions lasted days. Most DUI trials involve 1 or 2 witnesses and are over in 1 or 2 days. Those charged with a first offense DUI and most second offenses, are not entitled to a jury trial, as the maximum punishment is 6 months, which is the what the United States Supreme Court has held is the maximum amount of potential time that one charged with a crime can face, and not have a constitutional right to a jury trial.
3. A typical DUI case will involve a Preliminary Hearing at the local District Judge, a conference, and an ARD or plea hearing that could be over in one hour. In Butler County, Beaver County, and Westmoreland County, first time offenders go to the Preliminary Hearing and are immediately scheduled for their next and final hearing.
4. While our fees for first and second offenses will end up being very low should a client wish to proceed to trial, we will take that chance since most cases do not result in a trial and, in the end, we will still be adequately compensated overall for our time. Should we go to trial, we will represent you like our reputation is on the line, which it is in that event. The fact of the matter is that Attorney Mielnicki has over 23 years of experience representing those charged with DUI. We need to talk to you at length before we can determine from a police report what your chances are of winning your case.
The fees that the DUI Attorneys of PA DUI Defenders charge are premised on these facts. We will be accused of not charging enough for quality representation in handling DUI cases. The problem with this assertion is that Attorney Mielnicki is a seasoned trial lawyer who 1) has been chosen to instruct other attorneys on DUI laws and defenses 2) is licensed before the United States Supreme Court and has successfully argued cases before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals 3) has successfully handled murder cases and is recognized as a Top 100 Attorney by The National Trial Lawyers Association, and 4) has achieved a perfect 10.0 rating on Avvo .
You are looking for an attorney on a website? What do you really know about that attorney? Our point? If you are being quoted a fee that is twice, or three times, what our fee is, who is quoting you this fee? That attorney may be a very good attorney. We do not know and you may not know either. Call us for a reasonable fee for experienced, aggressive, and competent legal representation.
